Glowing Pavilion

Glowing Pavilion, 12 x 9, Oil on panel, L. Daniel © 2012

This pavilion is in the Japanese section of our botanical gardens at Zilker Park here in Austin. When I happened upon this scene and saw that wall of light, I stopped dead in my tracks. Then I saw the glowing interior and that was all she wrote. A delightful morning it was!

Whenever I receive a new work of yours in my email, I have to stop myself from commenting on your beautiful work. Truly outstanding as well as yesterdays!

I have MS and am pretty restricted to my home. I truly appreciate and admire the plein air painters. I look at art every morning with my coffee. I have gotten pretty good at being able to tell when an artist has done a work on location or if it's a studio painting. For some it's only a slight difference but a difference nevertheless. With your works? It's almost impossible! You have taken plein air to a new level.

Hi Laurel,

I love the expression "that's all she wrote," which is what my husband says at the end of every meal he's cooked. This is gorgeous, and I certainly see what captivated you. Thanks so much for sharing your joy.
