Abandoned Dock

Abandoned Dock, L. Daniel, 6 x 12
.
This is another crumbling old dock on the Frederica River that I fear will soon be gone. It is no longer in use and is beginning to cave in. I really love the romantic reminder of past enterprise... fishermen coming and going... fresh fish off to markets and restaurants... I hate to see it go away.

Laurel, I love this piece. Wonderful composition and color. I'm glad I met you at Salon International. Hopefully, we can go painting together when I get back to Austin.

The world is fortunate to have an artist of your caliber record places like these before they do disappear.

Hi Laurel,

Love the painting and know exactly what you mean. We own an old schoolhouse in Nova Scotia. You see these lovely buildings crumbling by the side of the road, and I wish I could buy and restore them all.

XOXOXOXOBarbara

HI Laurel, just like in my part of the country, there seems to be lots of things "going by the wayside" and being abandoned. One can only imagine what it was like in "it's time". This one is beautifully done. Love the palette you used. You have created emotion here.
