Marsh Banks

Marsh Banks, 6 x 8, L. Daniel, SOLD
.
My father-in-law has a great little boat to take out on the rivers and intercoastal waterways. It is really fun to explore all the twists and turns, and get a completely different view of the marshes. On a recent jaunt we ended up at a fabulous little seafood joint where we had delicious fish sandwiches! What a great time (thanks Charlie!) I painted this from a photograph taken that day.

What a wonderful world you inhabit, Laurel. What's even more wonderful is your appreciation of it. These pictures and their stories have all been fabulous. See you soon.

I love the palette that's developed while you've been there at the coast. It has such a subtle, romantic feel to it.

Hope to see you again soon.

Laurel, I agree with everyone's praise. Your paintings and stories are a great trip to wherever you go.

The best thing I can say is that I learn so much from your paintings. Always unending lessons. Thanks so much.

I love the Texas landscape, so my first thought, when you went to the coast, was: "I can't wait for her to get back home." Though i've never seen it, I'm now loving the coast; it's marshes, old structures, skies, etc. Thank you for that! ( Still can't wait for more of your Texas landscapes, and I'm betting they will be better than ever.)

Thank you so much for suggesting the book by Carlston. Even though there are NO colour pages his old style descriptions leave a lasting impression of being well taught.
What struck me above all in your work was the apparent simplicity (so obvious in Carlston's teaching).
I would be interested to know your 'everyday palette'.

Gorgeous color palette. And from a photo - though you experienced the place in person. Will you enlarge this one??

This is so fresh and clean. It makes you want to be there and feel the wind and see the clouds. Susan Gutting
