Spring Azaleas

Spring Azaleas, 8 x 6

Really, Azaleas are not supposed to like Texas. The soil or sun or heat or something is apparently not "right". However, the Azaleas in our yard defy that fact every spring. Without any special treatment at all, they just bloom like crazy. On a side note, today my husband and I celebrate our 30th anniversary! How great is that?

Happy Anniversary!!! Being from NC I grew up with azaleas. They are probably one of the things I miss most. I did try to plant an entire yard full when we lived in San Antonio, and you wouldn't believe what we went through to keep those things going. You are very lucky to have these, and your painting is a testament to how beautiful they are. This is very likely my favorite painting of yours yet!

Awesome glow on these edges. Azaleas are everywhere in Pensacola now; I painted them Friday.
(Thanks for the info and the invite. Sounds great. I did just find the specifics on that amoa site. To answer the why TX question - My husband has building work in Galveston and my daughter lives in Houston.)
Happy Anniversary.
