Dune Grass, 9 x 12, L. Daniel
.
Yesterday I painted at St. Andrew's Beach on Jekyl Island (a neighboring barrier island). What is great about this beach (besides being beautiful) is that there are trees near the shore that provide shade for picnic-ers and painters alike. Silly? I suppose, but I need the shade when I paint outside. The beach is particularly blinding so trees are my friends! :)
Love the colors in the sand and shadows! Beautiful painting - you really captured the light.
ReplyDeleteSo lovely! I'm drawn to your dancing grasses...
ReplyDeleteHi Laurel, I have not comment in a long time, but still visit you site. I couldn't let this one go by without commenting. Everything about it sings to me, the grasses, the shadows in the sand, the beautiful tree and water and sky. Don't want to take my eyes off it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your vacation.
Laurel, this is so beautiful. I can feel the breeze.
ReplyDeleteYour work just keeps getting better.
Love the dunes! Beautiful! Missed you at 5x7 though looks like you are in heaven.
ReplyDeleteThe colors are SO beautiful. I also love the composition and subject. Incredibly fresh.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, are you ever going to rest? I'm feeling totally inadequate. Just sayin'.
Beautiful, Laurel! I love this painting! I'm so envious, we spent some time on Jekyll Island a few years ago and loved it! Enjoy your time away!!
ReplyDeleteThis is very lovely, Laurel. A great group of paintings you are doing on your "busman's holiday!"
ReplyDeleteOh wow, the lit up beach makes it really appealing. Love the sky colors as well.
