Beach Dunes at Daybreak

Beach Dunes at Daybreak (study), 12 x 12
Flying Point Road beach head, Southampton

A new day. I was up early to catch the early light and discovered this stand of pine trees silhouetted against the morning sky. It was so quiet and peaceful before all the beach lovers would arrive and settle in.

Hi Laurel,

Except for the fact that the sand is red in Nova Scotia, I have seen this scene many times. Perhaps a bit later in the day.

A superb painting. Wonderful light.

XOXOXOXBarbara

I love those seaside pines on Long Island. Beautiful job with the darks in these.

Wonderful treatment of the pines, and the way you brought the blue in beneath them drew me to this.

Great composition here Laurel, but you already knew that! I alsolutely adore the small sunset over ocean painting on the sidebar too!

Laurel, these are lovely paintings, (the last three).
They really make me feel the light and the air and mood. Nicely done, and great colors.
