Sea of Wildflowers
Sea of Wildflowers, 8 x 6, SOLD
At this time of year, even some parking lots in Texas shimmer with the color of wildflowers. This was a gully next to the beautiful parking area of Lady Bird's commemorative wildflower center. Of course, it's filled with color and texture! I did delete a few cars from the upper ridge but that is what editing is all about! :)

Hi Laurel,
I love the playful way you've indicated the foreground flowers. Just perfect -- my delight parallels yours when I see your totally joyous brushwork.
Stunning.
XOXOBarbara
effortless brushstrokes Laurel! i wish we had such beautiful parking areas in Scotland. Unfortunately they are clinical with stick trees, well, most of them. r.
Oh, I so miss the Texas wildflowers. I have been seeing the vicariously through you. Thanks for that! I esp. love the bluebonnets!
You do such a great job of showing so much w/ so few brushstrokes.
I love these colors Laurel. Makes me want to be there!
I love the quick indication of color and flowers... Really nicely done!!
Hi Laurel,
Your plein air paintings are really fantastic. I can't wait to see more. Love this "Sea of Wildflowers" and how you combined minimalism with realism
Definitely a good idea to edit out cars!
Beautiful colors.
As I look out my window at the rainy grey umber landscape, your picture gives my hope that color will arrive in southern Ontario! A beautiful warm picture.
P.S.
Cars aren't so bad in the right setting! But that's the beauty of art...you can add or leave out as desired.
This is especially beautiful, I love your composition, how you've let the tree go off the canvas at the top. And your colors are a breath of fresh air, as usual.
