Blazing Palm

Blazing Palm, L. Daniel, 8 x 6, SOLD

Sometimes the sunlight hits things just right. You know what I am talking about... it stops us from whatever we are doing and we are compelled to look twice. When this palm has its daily "moment" in the sun, it gets me every time.

This is fabulous! I love it when artists are able to capture beauty in the most unexpected places.

I can just here those leaves rustling in the wind. I know just what your talking about Luarel. Not to far from where I live theres a big pasture with some live oak trees spread out and at the right time in the evening when the sun is beaming through the branches it lights up with an amazing orange color cast all over the grass and fringes of orange where the branches are. Nice painting Laurel.

Ever notice how an non-artist can miss it altogether? It amazes me every time! Shining beacons of light that pull my attention completely can be overlooked by others. How can they miss such a thing of beauty?

You've captured it well. I like that it became your entire painting! Cool composition that any artist can truly understand...

I know 'exactly' what you mean. We have a palm as well. The warm and cool morning light demands attention everyday. The shadows play against it perfectly. Another beauty Laurel.

You capture this amazing light dance so beautifully, too.

Your paintings take my breath away Laurel. I am a contemporary landscape painter in California, and subscribe to your emails. Each day, I see something new in your work, as a painter and as an observer of light and color in nature. When I opened "Blazing Palm" this morning, that was it. I had to own at least one of your paintings in my lifetime. When I see your work, and whisper "oh my God" to myself, I knew I had to buy it. Thank you for being such an inspiration.

Wow that's gorgeous! I love seeing this close-in scene too, as something a little different from the wide-open landscapes.
