Country Corner

Country Corner, L. Daniel, 6 x 6, SOLD

I like the solitary quality of this wintery road, especially since every where I go this week seems to be crowded with people and cars! A quiet moment is somewhat hard to come by in the days before Christmas. I am not complaining though, I love this time of year and am so happy to have my family gathered (and gathering) around!

I love the way you suggest the bare winter leaves with your brushwork.

I'm with you on that sentiment, Laurel - having a nice peaceful -people-less painting is wonderful to rest the eye this time of year! This lovely painting sure fits the bill! Merry Christmas to you, dear girl, and may the coming year bring you much joy!

I agree. Your painting expresses that sentiment perfectly.Happy Holidays!

Laurel, I think all of your paintings have a peaceful quality and really like that about them. This one does feel a bit more serene though and appreciate that with the craziness this time of year. Just beautiful.

Lovely solitary painting with such a sweet, subdued palette. Wishing you and your family a special Christmas season. Thanks for your card - I didn't get any out this year as our mid-month cruise put me behind. Merry, merry and happy 2011!!

I just love this dusky grey day. These are necessary to balance the bright sun. Also love the way you say so much with so little.
