Crossing the Creek

Crossing the Creek, 16 x 12
.
Last week, Julie Davis and I met up to paint at one of our local parks. It is one of those places with hidden trails through a wooded neighborhood that no one really knows about. This hidden spot is along that secret trail... just over the creek.

Beautiful warm foreground color. I love the little path, leading us to take a stroll, not knowing where it will take us. Great value contrasts.

I love the sense of distance in your paintings, Laurel. Wonderful brushwork, too!

Hi Laurel! I am also very drawn to this painting. Your color sense. edge control, and lilting composition are so amazing. Ah, if only I could be Laurel Daniel for even one day, and achieve something so spectacular!!!

I'm drawn into this sweet and secret place. I want to sit on the rock with dogs and watch fish.

Hi Laurel, Greetings from Australia.

I really like your paintings, especially this one and Flaxen Field. I like the depth you've acheived here with differing tones. I find this particularly hard to do!
