Farther Up

Farther Up, L. Daniel, 8 x 6, SOLD

Continuing on into my woodland trails series, this is the second painting of three. With these paintings I enjoyed trying to capture the delicious spotlights of the forest. One great thing about hiking through the woods is discovering little surprises of color and pattern on the way.

Hiking along and seeing the light and shadows is my very favorite part of walking on a path ... unless there is a beautiful view of water along the path.

Another beautiful painting ... is this one for Washington Park?

Its beautiful Laurel! Such and interesting composition. I agree, so many beautiful views can be seen on a hike through the woods... The difference is that you captured it. Very nice!

Lovely magical painting. I love the distant shades of green and the contrast with the dark tree. It makes you want to go for a walk in the forrest...

This is a beautiful painting, Laurel. I enjoy studying all the wonderful value shifts -- oh, and all the lovely greens!

I too love to hike through the woods and see the light filtering down through the trees. It makes everything take on a magical quality. Wonderful painting!

You've inspired me to do some "tree" paintings! These are just delicious!
I can feel the coolness in the forest.

Very nice, the light filtering through the trees and path are my favorite part of a hike. Nice job. Very peaceful painting. Today I will have to paint snow as it is really coming down here.

I love how you've featured this grand old tree not with its foliage, but with the dappled light filtered by its grand canopy. Lovely and comforting, Laurel.
