Evening Pause (study)

Evening Pause (study), L. Daniel, 8 x 6

End of day. I love the feeling, smells and light. I love it in real time and I love painting it. :) This small study was done in preparation for a larger canvas I will post later in the spring (in conjunction with a show it will be in). As I have shared before, these small works are a great place for me to work out color relationships and composition challenges of an image before diving into a big one.

PS - I had a number of readers request that I post my Woodland Series altogether. Here they are, in sequence... Further In, Farther Up and Circle Back...

This evening pause is really tasty! And I think the triptych is to be seen exactly like this. Well done (with respect). JBP

Evening Pause is just beautiful. Makes you want to do just that- lots of gorgeous color and lights and darks to reflect on. I LOVE the triptych...oh my! Very powerful to see all together. Incredibly talented piece Laurel:)

I love the study and the trilogy, or triptych. The colour in both your study, and the triptych is very strong -- gorgeous.

You are wonderful.

Your triptych is incredible and so well conceived! Each of the panels was beautiful, and together they create a "world." Lucky person who owns them! And "Evening Study" is also gorgeous!

I love your triptych. When I was a little girl I always imagined the little fairies living in the forest. Your paintings are what I would see in my mind that the forest looked like. Even down to the colors that you used.
