Summer at Deep Eddy

Summer at Deep Eddy, L. Daniel, 12 x 9

This morning I met my friend Terri Wells for a "paint and swim" at Deep Eddy, a local pool here in Austin. On these warm, summer days we have to get out early and preferably have some water nearby to fling ourselves into! Deep Eddy Pool is filled with spring-fed water and stays a constant 68 degrees. It's so refreshing!

Love your wonderful shades of green and gold. Lovely. My parents met at Deep Eddy in the 5o's so a special place for me.

I love the colors in your paintings! So inviting. I also love the idea of a "paint and swim"! Some friends and I who also have horses do a "ride and dine", so I get the idea! Ahhh, a nice dip in water after painting sounds wonderful!

Love this painting! The greens are lovely. And I like the idea of paint and swim! With this heat it would be mainly swimming for me! :-)

Beautiful painting Laurel! I love all the subtleties of your greens. I know what you mean about having a nice cool place to fling oneself into . . . since I live in Houston. We almost went to Austin this weekend and I was hoping to join the plein air group for their Saturday paint get together. But we didn't go after all. Maybe another time . . .
I also love your recent haybales.

Hi Laurel,

So often when I look at your work, this Mmmmm escapes from my mouth
immediately, and then a profound Wow.
Super to see your work again. I hope you're having a great summer.
