Morning Veil

Morning Veil, L. Daniel, 6 x 8, SOLD
.
One morning I was painting at Westlake Beach, and suddenly I heard the strumming of a guitar. Then I heard a fiddle; and then I heard singing. It turned out that two musicians were at the water's edge practicing for a weekend gig. Could I have been any luckier??? They sang and played the whole time I was painting - it was pure joy.

The light on the tree, especially the streak of light on the left truck, is lovely. How nice to have live music played while you paint!

Wow, you really lucked out! Live music to paint by! Very cool.

I love how simple but evocative this is. I shot a bunch of reference photos of a similar scene here, and I think this painting will help me find the right approach. I'm sure I was going to over-complicate the scene!

Hi Laurel,

Could we have been any luckier, that you can paint this superb light so perfectly?

This painting is a little gem, Laurel. It has music all it's own.
