Overcast and raining, but still painting...

Zilker Field, 6 x 8

This morning our Plein Air group met in spite of the forecast for showers (we are a committed bunch.) Sure enough, after setting up and getting started it began to rain, the wind kicked up and "that cold front" came on in. So here is a glimpse of our dark, cold morning. (And don't you know that the last two days were clear and sunny?)

It's lovely, so soft feeling. You said it was cold, but for some reason the painting has a warm-rain springtime feel for me.

Hi Laurel
I love the way the split rail fence takes your eye right into the picture. I feel a misty drizzly warmish day when I look at your painting...something I would long for as I watch the snow fall yet again!

Love it, Laurel. Wish I could've been out there today--you captured the park so well.

Hi Laurel,

Your wet cold day looks like heaven to me. You lend such warmth to your work, that you may have been freezing, but the painting is absolutely delightful.
