Pretty in Pink, 12 x 12Today my still life class started back up and I always get a hankering to paint while I am strolling around the room. So, when I got home, I painted this vase of orchids which was from one of my still life setups. It was like a little treat for myself.

Laurel, this painting is amazing! I guess that fact that you REALLY wanted to paint this came through in your brush strokes and your colors. I love it. And how clever to take the class 'left overs' and paint that. I would have made a trip to the store, bought more flowers, set it up at home a bunch of different ways, then lost the momentum and either a) never painted it or b) painted it but lost the excitement about the flowers with all the 'errands' and other busy work. You are an inspiration!!!
