ReplyDeletePavel Tretyakov (December 27, 1832 – December 4, 1898) was a famous Russian art collector. In 1856, Tretyakov, a Moscow merchant, acquired the first paintings in his collection. Today the collection numbers 140 000 works, making it Russia’s largest anthology of national art.
