Watching the River Flow

Watching the River Flow, 6 x 12. L. Daniel

This is another one from our trip to Hunt, Texas outside Kerrville. The Guadalupe River runs through this whole area, sometimes wider, sometimes narrower. I like how the trees along the bank seem to be cheering it along on it's journey. This view belongs to my good pal Julie, who generously shared it with all of us! (Thanks J!)

  1. Your greens are just beautiful and I love just the hint of the blue river! Lovely!

  2. After touring the Hill Country it is especially fun following your painting journey. I thought the Guadalupe River was charming too.
Thanks for sharing your mother color recipe in the class I took from you. That tip has greatly helped my color mixing skills and my paintings look a lot more cohesive!

  4. What a fabulous job on this, Laurel. You're s master of capturing rough-hewn dryness of the Texas Hill Country.

Also, I love the analogy of the trees cheering on the flow of the Guadalupe. In some sense, I'm sure they actually do.
