Misty Spring Morning, 6 x 8, L. Daniel, SOLD
This Thursday, I met up with painting friends at a ranch about an hour out of town. It was a misty, moisty morning that continually threatened larger storms a'comin'... makes a girl paint fast and furious! I managed to get a small study finished before the mist turned to rain, and was so glad I didn't stay home.

Excellent! I can feel the moisture in the air. My hair is getting frizzy just looking at it. I really like the composition, and the lovely structure of the focal tree.
ReplyDeleteNice painting Laurel. Did the mist effect the paint any?

Lovely! You really captured that misty landscape. The soft colors and soft edges are beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteLove it.

Yes... I so need to learn the light touch you used on the tops of those branches...
ReplyDeleteDar is right... this really gives you the feeling of the atmosphere in the scene!!
Thanks all! My hair doesn't get frizzy, but it was definitely that kind of day!!! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd Kirby, I was able to keep the mist off the canvas by turning the back into the wind. My own personal experience is that the paint won't stick if the canvas gets slick with water. So I try to avoid that... :)
This is gorgeous Laurel. I love the subtle colour and the mood.
