Today is the Winter Solstice - the first day of winter and the shortest day of the year (at least in the Northern Hemisphere.) It all has to do with the fact that the "top" half of Earth is tilted away from the sun at its most extreme angle. Trees are baring and plants are going dormant... all part of the cycle.
Even with the warm color of the ground, one can sense the coolness of the scene. It is so great to know that the days will be getting longer from this point on. Yay!!!
Very nice! - Your paintings always have such a nice feel. The simplicity is similar to how I imagine my paintings ( before I paint them - and add too much detail). I love your choice of colors , balance and expression.
very nice.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you guys capture the feeling in the oil paintings .
the art is well priced as well.
I love the way you do all of those branches without painting in branches... It looks so real!
ReplyDeleteNice job as always.
Happy Holidays.
