I wonder at the variation in the natural world - the tide, the sky, the light. Everything is constantly changing but there is a definite rhythm to it all.
The paintings in the last three posts are just beautiful. I think when people paint from the heart, it comes through in their work. Its obvious that you felt these places: the warm winds, glow of the sun, intensity of the colors. My sister recently visited St. Simons. She brought back pictures of drinking at the bar, sunbathing on the rocks, and hot waiters. lol
This looks like some places in Nova Scotia, like the marsh land out behind our schoolhouse. I know when I travel out there this year that you and your glorious paintings will be on my mind full time.
I wish I was a better photographer so I could capture the incredible views I will see for you. But I will see them through the lense of what you would do.
Just stunning! Wish I could see it in it's full size! You are so talented!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work Laurel, tehw ay you have captured the light in both sky and land is wonderful.
ReplyDeletei hope you guys got some rain since your last post. r.
You definitely achieved a rhythm and flow in your clouds. You got the values in the clouds just right. Not any easy thing to do.

I like this composition, and the warm light on the clouds contrasting the cool blue, really give it depth.

ReplyDeleteHi, there! I wandered over from Carol's and caught my breath at this painting. I love it! So happy I dropped by and will be back soon.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Love the low horizon line here and the contrast between the rounder clouds vs. flat ground.
ReplyDeleteWow! The simple composition, the beautiful contrasting warm and cool colors, and great execution make a powerful statement.
