The Space Between

The Space Between, L. Daniel, 6 x 8

Twenty Eleven.... it's just crazy. We are having some rainy, dreary days here in Austin. I painted this portrait of our weather in my warm, dry studio from a photo. Although I am anxious to get outside and paint again after the holiday hiatus, today was not the day. But it was a great day to get back at it again and work out some of the rustiness. Feels good. :)

Laurel,
I like the subdued palatte in this one. Really nice landscape with trees that I want! Your trees are the best...

I love this title. It speaks to me. I think also "The In Between" would be a lovely title. January weather can be so cozy.

Did I just say that?

Love you,
Erin :)

You certainly captured the mood here in Austin. Good weather to curl up with a book! Beautiful work as always!

Hi Laurel,

It looks good too. You don't have any rustiness. This is wonderful.

I have been lurking on your blog for about a year now and so have gotten a chance to see you "paint the seasons", so to speak. The last couple of wintery paintings that you have done have really, really caught my attention. This one in particular is really evocative of a wintery day (without being wintery, if that makes sense). Really wonderful so thank you:)
