Autumnal Morning

Autumnal Morning, L. Daniel, 18 x 36

This larger, studio piece is based on a plein air study I did last week. I widened the scene to focus on the long morning shadows and to capture the sense of depth I felt in this farmland. It was a fun way to revisit a lovely morning!

So beautiful! I absolutely love the shadows and the colors are just perfect. A great painting based on your plein air piece!

Hi Laurel,

I love the more pinky feeling in this one. The other was more golden. Both are amazing. Just wonderful.

There is something about the pink you used in this painting that gives it an mystical feeling, so soothing.

Beautiful. Loved the study but love how you extended this - has an expansive, illusive but colorful feeling. What fun!

Gorgeous Laurel - I really like the widened compostition and great arial perspective too! I love all the sunshine you seem to have in Texas all the time!

Autumnal paintings! I've been hesitant to explore this color palette but you've done a really good job here. We'd better do more of this before all the leaves fall, huh? :)
