Snow Day, L. Daniel, 6 x 8, SOLD
This morning we woke up to a blanket of snow on the ground!!! This is pretty unusual for central Texas, so I couldn't resist the urge to paint it. I love the way snow makes everything quiet, and here it's especially true because everything shuts down. I grew up in Wisconsin and we used to pray for Snow Days as kids... I love them. :)

PS - Thank you all for sharing my excitement about the Greenhouse Gallery show. It was great to hear from so many of you and the encouragement is always welcome!!!
Beautiful and peaceful looking! Hope you are staying warm. I bet you are not used to painting out in the snow there!
ReplyDeleteSweet painting. I so want to try one. I was one of the few that actually made it to my work everyday this week despite the weather. If it's still there tomorrow...
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful Laurel. You make winter look so inviting! I'll have to remember that tomorrow since we are scheduled for snow-again...
ReplyDeleteNice one Laurel, great feeling in there!
ReplyDeleteLaurel, I think is one of my favorites. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Weren't you cold?? I slept in as I needed a day off from my new job. Congrats on the Greenhouse Gallery show!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the snow covered road. This is a lovely painting.
ReplyDeleteLovely landscape. It is odd to think of TX having so much cold and snow. Of course here in Maine this winter we are getting snow about every 3 or 4 days. Pretty but makes life challenging.
ReplyDeleteNice one Laurel. I actually got out today for the first time and painted
ReplyDeletein the snow. It was great. You did a really nice job of capturing the different values snow paintings present.
Hi Laurel,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great painting. I love the contrast of the snow and the green leaves. That does not happen here.
