Sun-Kissed Blossoms

Sun-Kissed Blossoms, L. Daniel, 6 x 8, SOLD

Last week when I mentioned that I was calling this little garden series "Other People's Gardens", I got some ribbing from my blog friend, Kirby. He kindly wondered was something wrong with my own garden? (Perhaps the drought had killed everything???) Certainly we all know that the other man's grass is always greener, but it got me thinking... no, my flowers are alive and well (in spite of 40 days of triple digits.) SO, the next few garden paintings will be from my own backyard. I shall re-title the series "Gardens" and leave it at that. Much more freedom all the way around! :)

I love the grey-blue background behind the bloom. It is really neat to see what you chose to include and exclude in your rendition.

I love the series, no matter WHAT you call it! Really - 40 days of triple digits? I'm in HELL after a few days of high nineties. Who can enjoy a garden if they can't breathe from the heat??? I'm thinking of moving to MAINE - come with me!

Hi, Kelley and Laurel,
It is "wicked hot" here in Maine, so wait a minute, as we Mainers say, and the weather will change! Yesterday, I painted outside in downtown Bangor for 6 hours with an 80 year old friend. Today, I am celebrating the "Sun-Kissed" world! Happy painting!

SunKissed is lovely and just that:) Really pretty and just can feel the warmth on the gorgeous flowers.
We are right there with you in the heat wave. And...if you and Kelley are going to Maine- I want to go with y'all:)

Thanks All... This summer, we are all having to learn to be drought hardy - people and plants both! :)
